Pomona House of Ruth : Helping Victims Of Domestic Violence

House of Ruth

The House of Ruth is a non-profit organization that helps women and children affected by domestic violence. It provides emergency or transitional shelter, counseling, a 24 hour toll free hotline as well as prevention and outreach programs.   The organization has been operating since 1977 in the eastern Los Angeles and western San Bernardino counties. The organization provides free of charge assistance available in both English and Spanish.

A few of the community services it provides include the following:

  • A 24- hour emergence hotline with a 24 hour Spanish Pager response Team
  • Housing Assistance
  • CalWORKS (welfare) case management
  • Legal advocacy and temporary restraining order assistance
  • Career counseling
  • On-site child care
  • Community Education
  • Volunteer Programs
